TOURNAMENT COMPLETE!

First off A HUGE THANK YOU to all our volunteers!  Without you we could not have had such a successful tournament!!

We started planning this tournament back in November 2019 using a new software system to manage registration, events and operations.  We appreciated your patience and understanding during the tournament as we worked tirelessly to keep things moving as quickly as possible.  It was definitely a challenge since we added a fourth bracket this year which made the day longer running events on Friday and Saturday until sundown.

There were 231 total games played over 3 days with 106 men and women registered for the tournament and 72 medals awarded. The weather cooperated on Friday and Saturday but Sunday had a LOT of wind for the Men's Doubles Event.

A big thank you to our head referee, Sandy King, from Golden Shores, Arizona who made the drive everyday to organize our referees and line judges.

Below is the list of the Medal Results for all the Event Brackets.  CONGRATULATIONS to all of our players!!

Our Volunteers

Many of our members volunteer their time in the Lake Havasu City community to help promote pickleball in a variety of ways.  We appreciate and thank each one of them for taking the time to share their love of the game by donating their time.  Listed below are some of the events our volunteers have engaged with.

LHC Human Resources Wellness Program

The City offers a Wellness Program that includes a monthly luncheon offering some type of exercise activity. Our Association was contacted to provide pickleball lessons/games for the City employees.  To date we have supported four of those events and look forward to many more.

Camp Iwannago

For the second year in a row, our volunteers participated in conducting a weekly pickleball session for kids ages 10-13 teaching basic skills/drills and organizing games.

Camp Iwannago is for children entering fifth through seventh grade. Program runs June & July, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. This last summer 2019, Camp was held at Thunderbolt Middle School.

PaddyFest PickleFest

March 2019 we had 46 volunteers that participated in setting up and operating two outdoor pickleball courts providing free lessons and demonstrations to guests attending the Irish Music Festival called PaddyFest.  This event ran three days and we had a lot of fun educating and showing the community how much fun pickleball is as the fastest growing sport in America!
